Micro fiberglass has a larger void volume compared to its polyolefin counterparts thus providing higher flow rates with lower pressure drops. This characteristic also allows the filter to have higher throughput and higher dirt holding capacity thus prolonging the service life. The setback is usually micro fiberglass filters are of higher cost compared to their polyolefin counterparts.
